On
the small Sicilian island of Lampedusa living family - father, a
fisherman, a teacher and mother of three children. For the whole day out
at sea, Pietro, his children cleaned and packaged fish, and Grazia,
still young and very beautiful woman, suffocated in the stifling,
stinking space. The more she tries to break out of the dreary everyday
life, the more it seems to be causing the behavior. The inhabitants of
Lampedusa are spreading the rumor that Grazia was unwell, and Pietro was
going to put her in a psychiatric hospital in Milan. Only Pasquale, son
of Grazia, the only one who understands his mother and tries to resist
his father in his rash decision.
