| War of the Buttons (1994) |
Set
on a novel by Louis Pergo, this remarkable film tells of the boys in a
small Irish village, warring, like all small children, with boys from a
neighboring village. During the war they cut off the opponents buttons,
as it is the most severely punished by the parents on both sides. In the
center of the picture a boy, the son of poor parents, who punished him
with excessive severity. He runs away from home to avoid cruel
punishment, but in the end it is still sent to an orphanage for troubled
Teens. Beautiful game of all actors.
