After the Spanish Civil War, Fando, a boy of about ten years, attempts to find out the reason for the disappearance of his father. He soon discovers that his mother, a strict catholic, was the one who denounced her husband because he was anti-fascist. Fando wants to know what happened with his father, debating between feelings of love and hatred toward his mother, and the hope of finding his father alive.
